Struggling to find time with my father I was – perhaps childishly – feeling a little rejected. As it turned out, this was not the case at all.
For this work I asked him to make a pinhole camera for me – he has a habit of letting other more important work build up and never getting around to these things. What actually happened was very different, and the camera he produced is still one of my most prized possessions, along with the work that came from it. Shooting on 5×4 sheet film, the exposure took 30 seconds.
